A serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on May 4, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of St. Mary’s Road and Chesterfield Avenue, according to the Winnipeg Police Service.
Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were on the scene and transported the adult female pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition. Tragically, she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigating officers.
The Traffic Division’s Collision Investigation Section has taken over the investigation. The pedestrian has been identified as a 38-year-old female from Winnipeg. Notifications to her family have been made.
The Winnipeg Police Service is appealing to the public for any information related to this incident. They are particularly interested in video or dash camera footage that may have captured the incident.
