Just before 10:30 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019, emergency crews responded to a fire in a one and a half storey home at 506 Prichard Avenue.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the house as they arrived and launched an offensive attack.
An adult male was found inside during the initial search of the building by fire crews. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since died from his injuries.
The building sustained extensive damage
Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit along with fire investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
