Just after 2:00 am Thursday morning fire crews were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Lynbrook Drive in Charleswood.
A man was found still in the home by firefighters. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The cause of the fire is not known but police will be updating the media at an 11am press conference.
