Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service made a grisly discovery Sunday morning after a fire on Pembina Highway.
Just after 8:30 am firefighters were called to a blaze in a guest room at the Capri motel. Crews quickly knocked down the fire within 20 minutes.
Inside the room, crews found one person dead.
Winnipeg Police are investigating the death while fire investigators are determining the cause of the blaze.
All the other guests at the motel were able to evacuate prior to fire crews arriving.
One injury was reported during the incident. A firefighter was hurt and taken to hospital in stable condition.
