Winnipeg Police have arrested one person after a dispute escalated to the point that a serious assault took place Friday evening, August 16, 2019.

Investigators say that just before 5:30 pm they were called to the Wolseley area about an unresponsive male who had been assaulted.

When officers arrived on the scene at Tylehurst Street and Wolseley Avenue they found a male in his 30s in critical condition. The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics but died Saturday morning.

Alexander Agnus McPherson, 29 from Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault for his alleged involvement.

Police say that the victim and suspect were known to each other.

McPherson was detained in custody.

Members of the Homicde Unit are continuing with the investigation.
