Around 9:45 am on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, RCMP were called to a collision between a van and a semi-truck on the Trans Canada Highway.
Police say that the semi was stopped in the westbound lanes waiting to turn north onto Cabot Road in the RM of Cartier. A van being driven by a 55-year-old Matlock man rear-ended the semi.
The van driver was declared dead at the scene.
The 21-year-old semi driver was not injured.
Police say that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
