RCMP in Portage la Prairie are investigating a fatal collision between a semi truck and a pedestrian on Highway 1 at Highway 16.
It happened Saturday evening, August 26, 2017, just before 7:30 pm.
RCMP say that a 39-year-old man from Portage la Prairie was walking along the highway when he was struck and killed. The 51-year-old driver of the semi was not injured.
Investigators spent several hours processing the scene with the help of the Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
The name of the victim has not been released.

Last week three people died and two were critically injured at the same intersection when the minivan they were in collided with a semi truck.
