Collision on Highway 52 claimed the life of 6 year old child

A two-vehicle collision on Highway 52 at Provincial Road 216 on May 31, 2018, has claimed the life of a 6-year-old boy.

The collision occurred around 5:40 pm.

According to police a vehicle being driven by a 23-year-old female collided with a vehicle that was making a left-hand turn onto Provincial road 216 from Highway 52.

The 23-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The 26-year-old driver of the other vehicle suffered serious non-life threatening injuries but her son was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Monday, June 11, 2018, police say the child died due to the injuries he received during the collision.

RCMP are continuing to investigate the collision.
