Two adult and a youth are facing arson charges for their alleged involvement is setting a forest fire in 2018.
Police say that on May 21, 2018 a wildfire started along Family Lake and quickly got out of control due to very dry, windy conditions.
29,000 hectares of forest in Manitoba and 3,000 hectares in Ontario were consumed by the blaze before it was contained.
2000 people had to be evacuated from Little Grand Rapids and Pauingassi First Nations in the wake of the fire. Residents from those communities would not return to their homes for over a month.
The fire damaged a hydro line and sub-station as well as six homes and an equipment warehouse on Little Grand Rapids First Nation. 15 buildings at Moar Lake Lodge and 5 buildings at Fishing Lake Lodge were also damaged.
