Family argument leads to stabbing, say police

Police in Winnipeg have laid aggravated assault charges against an 18-year-old male in connection to a stabbing at and Edgewood Street home on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Police say they were called to the residence in the 400 block around 6:30 pm and found a woman in her 40s suffering serious injuries. She was taken to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.

Police say that two family members got into a verbal argument when the victim was stabbed.

18-year-old Alexander Turner of Winnipeg was arrested while fleeing the area. He has been charged for his alleged involvement with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.

Turner was detained in custody.
