On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, a man walked into a convenience store in the 500 block of William Avenue and told the employee he was a police officer and was there to commit a robbery. The suspect then proceeded to open several drawers and stole an unknown quantity of cigarettes.

The same thing happened October 20, 2018, November 13, 2018, November 23, 2018 and on March 10, 2019. I all but one robbery (Nov 23, 2018) the suspect told the clerk he was a police officer then proceeded to steal various amounts of cigarettes.

Members of the Major Crimes unit were able to identify the suspect and on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 he was taken into custody.

Dariusz Tomasz Wojczynski, 38 from Winnipeg is facing charges for his alleged involvement of:

• Robbery X2
• Disguise with Intent X3
• Theft Under X3
• Personating Peace Officer X4
• Fail to Comply with Undertaking

He was detained in custody.
