High temperatures expected well into next week
Summer weather is upon us and with it comes heat, lots and lots of heat!
On Friday June 2, 2017 Environment Canada issued a Special Weather Statement warning of the risks associated with extreme temperatures.
Over the next week, including today, temperatures are expected to peak in the low to mid 30s across Southern Manitoba. As of 2:40 pm today a number of places have already set new records.

With high temperatures comes an elevated risk of heat related illnesses like heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
In order to avoid the adverse affects of being in the heat people are reminded to
- Take frequent breaks from the heat, spending time outdoors at your house or at cooled public buildings (including malls or indoor pools).
- Drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated.
- Do not leave any person or pet inside a closed vehicle, for any length of time.
