WINNIPEG WEATHER

Christmas, New Years and EXTREME COLD!

The forecast for the rest of 2017 is looking cold, really, really cold.

Beginning on Christmas Eve and continuing into the New Year temperatures are expected to hover in and around -30 celsius. With the windchill, it is expected to feel like closer to -40 during part of the week.

The last time it was this cold for the holidays was two decades ago in 1996.

In contrast, the North Pole, home to the big man in red, will be a balmy -23 on the big day warming up to -17 on Boxing Day.
