The extreme cold warning for Winnipeg and all of southern Manitoba continues as windchills continue to be in the -40c to -50c range.
It is expected that the extreme cold will remain until Sunday, January 2, 2022, when they will begin to moderate.
When it is extremely cold outside it is important to watch out for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin.
It is also important to be aware that if it is too cold for you to be outside it is too cold for your pet to be out.
