Environment Canada has issued an extreme wind chill warning for all of Manitoba as temperatures are expected to plummet below -40c Friday night, January 18, 2019.
The prolonged period of very cold wind chills is expected throughout the weekend and into next week.

Risks associated with extreme wind chill values are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working outside and people who do not have adequate shelter.
Pets are also at danger during very low wind chills. The rule of thumb to follow is that if it is too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.
