Firefighters spent hours battling the blaze as temperatures hovered around -30c. With the windchill it felt closer to -44c.

Ice could be seen hanging on the back of pumper trucks and supply hoses as the water being used to fight the fire froze on equipment and turnout gear.

Although the fire was declared under control at 11:23 pm firefighters remained on scene well into the early morning hours.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
