Expect delays on Waverley St as rail lines are being moved for underpass build

The city is warning those who use Waverley Street that between November 1 and November 3, 2017 traffic may be delayed as crews divert the main rail line to a bypass line for the construction of the Waverley underpass.

The city says that for the next three days CN trains will be transitioning over to the bypass which in railway terms is known as a “SHOOFLY”. Specialized equipment will be passing over the shoofly as well as train traffic. Additional delays above usual train traffic will happen.

Those using Waverley are reminded to not stop on the tracks and to always stop before the flashing lights and gates when trains are approaching.
