Modifications to the essential list of goods that can be sold in retail stores have been made and come into effect at 12:01 am Sunday November 22, 2020.
In the initial orders that came into place on Thursday November 19 gift cards, prepaid credit cards and newspapers were considered non-essential items. These items will now be able to be sold after the amendment to the order comes into place.
The province is also expanding the list of communities where stores can sell both essential and non-essential items. The amended orders now include Sapotaweyak, Berens River, Poplar River, Little Grand Rapids and Pauingassi.
