Erratic driver turns out to be wanted in Quebec and Ontario

On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, RCMP were called about an erratic driver northbound on the Perimeter Highway. Officers found the vehicle and stopped it about one kilometre west of Highway 7.

Police say that officers noticed that a physical altercation had taken place between the occupants of the vehicle and the male driver was taken into custody.

The male became combative with officer in an attempt to resist arrest. Once in custody the suspect tried to use a false name but police quickly learned his true identity. Officers also learned that the suspect was wanted on a number of warrants from Quebec and Ontario.

RCMP searched the vehicle and seized a number of weapons including a conducted energy weapon.
