Police dog ‘Enzo’ helps Mounties capture armed robbery suspect

Steinbach RCMP are praising the efforts of one of their own after a robbery suspect was captured in the city south-east of Winnipeg.

Mounties say that on October 22, 2017, around 10:00 pm they received the report of an armed robbery at a Main Street business in Steinbach. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

Soon after the robbery RCMP dog Enzo arrived on scene and was quickly able to find a track to follow to a nearby residence.

Police have arrested a 14-year-old male. He has been charged with Robbery Using Firearm, Disguise with Intent, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Careless Use of a Firearm, Using Firearm in Commission of an Offence and Possession of a Firearm for Dangerous Purpose.

The youth remains in custody.
