If you happen to see multiple emergency vehicles parked in and around the Canadian Human Rights Museum on Sunday, September 16, 2018, fear not. Winnipeg Police and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service will be conducting a joint training exercise inside the facility.
According to the city, the training exercise allows first responders to work together in a relevant public space to coordinate a response in the event of a real emergency.
Not only does it allow those involved to practise skills, it helps identify gaps in the way a response is conducted. This type of exercise also helps build relationships between the different services involved.
The training will begin after the museum closes and will be limited to the area of the museum. The Forks will remain open during the training.
