Emergency crews respond to a serious two-vehicle collision on Lagimodiere Blvd

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Winnipeg Police Service responded to a serious two-vehicle collision late Saturday night.

The collision happened around 10:30 pm at the intersection of Dawson Road and Lagimodiere Blvd. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage and at least one person was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Witnesses tell News 4 that one of the vehicles was travelling in excess of the 80 km/h speed limit in that area.

Traffic was backed up in the southbound lanes while having to move to the median lane in order to get around the emergency scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by Winnipeg Police Traffic Division officers.
