An 83-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after a robbery in the 300 block of William Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a call at approximately 12:45 p.m. on February 25, 2025, where they found the elderly victim lying on the ground, suffering from lower body injuries.
Central District General Patrol officers arrived on the scene and immediately provided assistance. The victim was then transported to a local hospital in stable condition, where she remains under medical care.
The incident is now under investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the robbery and identify the perpetrator(s).
