Heavy smoke was seen coming from the building as emergency crews arrived.

Firefighters immediately launched an offensive interior attack and were able to get the blaze under control by 8:30 pm.

Fire officials say that everyone in the home were able to evacuate before emergency crews arrived due to a working smoke alarm.

Eight people were assessed by paramedics and then taken to hospital.

Fire investigators believe the blaze was accidental. They say that indications are a curtain came in contact with a light bulb setting off the fire.
