Eight people have been charged for violating a Public Health order, over the Victoria Day long weekend, that restricts all non-essential travel above the 53rd Parallel.
RCMP say that seven of the travellers from Winnipeg and one from Dauphin told officers they knew of the restrictions but chose to ignore it in order to visit friends and family in the Thompson area.
Police issued fines in the amount of $486 to each individual.
