Edmonton man arrested, charged with drug trafficking

A 22-year-old Edmonton man is facing drug charges after his arrest in Winnipeg during an investigation into Fentanyl trafficking.

Police say that on November 21, 2020 they arrested the suspect near Kenaston Boulevard and North Town Road. Later in the evening officers raided a residence on Hill Grove Point.

Investigators says that the search of the suspect, his vehicle and the residence uncovered about 6.4 kilograms of methamphetamine with a street value of about $103,400, about 452 grams of Fentanyl with a street value of $118,000, Approximately 122 grams of cocaine and 74 grams of crack cocaine with a combined street value of $12,050. Police also seized $13,420 in cash, drug packaging materials, score sheets and two mobile phones.

Irfan Kamyar from Edmonton, Alberta has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine , Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl , Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking –- Cocaine and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

Kamyar was detained in custody.
