Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) were called to an apartment fire on Mayfair Place on Monday morning, August 27, 2018.
Although the fire was contained to one suite a second alarm was called in by firefighters because of the risk to life when a building is occupied.
WFPS crews were able to rescue the person who lived in the apartment suite and take them to hospital in stable condition.
Fire officials say the fire was contained to only the one suite and people in the rest of the building will be allowed back in once the building has been ventilated.
No one else was injured during the fire which is under investigation.
