Firefighters responded to a fire in a two-storey house around 3:00 am Saturday morning, March 20, 2021, in the 400 block of Aikins Street.
Heavy smoke was coming from the structure when emergency crews arrived on the scene and an offensive attack was launched. The fire was declared under control within 30 minutes.
Those who were in the building at the time of the blaze were able to get themselves out before crews arrived. Four people were treated at the scene by paramedics however none of them required hospitalization.
No other injuries were reported
Firefighters were able to rescue a cat from the fire and reunite it with its owner.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
