Firefighters were called to a Lockwood Street home Sunday morning for the report of a structure fire.
When crews arrived around 5:20 am they saw smoke coming from the bungalow and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control within 20 minutes.
Of the eight people in the house seven had self-evacuated but the other was helped out by firefighters. All seven people were assessed on the scene by paramedics. No one needed to be taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
