Brandon police say drunk man caused his own arrest

On the list of things not to do is call 911 unless you need help. 

A 37 year old Dauphin man may have learned a valuable lesson Thursday night after he called 911 in Brandon. Turns out the man was intoxicated and didn’t really have a reason to call police. 

Officers were sent to the home that the call came from only to discover that the man who made the call was wanted on a warrant for his arrest and was also under orders to abstain from drinking alcohol.

Police arrested the drunk and he was held in Brandon Correctional Centre over night then taken to court on Friday.
