Winnipeg Police have arrested a 39-year-old male after police watched him walking away from a stolen vehicle just after midnight on Friday morning, January 18, 2019.
Police chased after the suspect on foot and were able to catch him as he tried to get into a taxi.
Officers placed the suspect under arrest and found a small quantity of Cocaine and Heroin on him along with $80 in cash.
Officers also searched a bag the man had thrown into the cab and found counterfeit $50 bill, a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, ammunition, a knife and a scale. Also inside the bag was the

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Heroin

- Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Making Counterfeit Money- Possession of Counterfeit Money
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x4)
