Winnipeg Police have arrested a male suspect after he tried to run from them in a stolen vehicle.
It happened on Sunday, October 22, 2017, around 5:00 am after police pulled over the vehicle on Bannatyne Avenue near Tecumseh Street.

The driver drove up on the boulevard and across a few front lawns before he could get away.
15 minutes later the vehicle was found abandoned in the 1300 block of Ross Avenue.
Officers called in the dog and the K-9 unit tracked the suspect hiding in a yard in the 1400 block of Ross.
He was arrested and was found to have in his possession the key to the stolen vehicle, bear spray, drugs, a scale and drug-packing material.
Orrin Lawrence Spence, 27 from Winnipeg, has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
- Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
- Possession of a Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Marijuana
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
Spence was also wanted on an arrest warrant for the suspension of his statutory release.
He was detained in custody.
