Members of the Winnipeg Police Guns and Gangs Unit and the Tactical Support Team executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act on a Brooklands area home on Tuesday April 6, 2021.
As police were executing the warrant two people jumped from an upper floor window in an attempt to flee. Officers quickly placed them in custody.
Police seized a number of drugs and a weapon inside the residence including:
- a loaded .22 Caliber Handgun with a scratched off serial number
- magazine containing ammunition
- backpack containing ammunition
- holster and ammunition belt
- 24 grams of Fentanyl ($4800 estimated street value)
- 4 Ounces of Methamphetamine ($2400 estimated street value)
- drug paraphernalia and packaging materials
Four adults were arrested and charged with a number of drug and weapon offences for their alleged involvement including two females aged 33 and 31 who were released on Appearance Notices.
Michael Jeffery Thomas, 36 and Nolin James Fontaine, 28 were charged and detained in custody.
