First Nations Police seize drugs and weapons during traffic stop

Manitoba First Nations Police in Waywayseecappo pulled a vehicle over in the first nation community during the evening of July 31, 2019.

As officers were conducting the routine traffic stop they noticed drug paraphernalia in plain sight on the back seat of the vehicle.

The two occupants in the vehicle were searched along with the vehicle leading to the seizure of a powder substance believed to be cocaine and methamphetamine crystals. Officers also seized weapons, baggies, a scale and cash.

Both suspects are from the community and are facing a number of charges.

The 24-year-old female has been charged with two counts of Fail to Comply with an Undertaking, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Possession for the purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000.

The 25-year-old male suspect was charged with Fail to Comply with a Recognizance, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000.
