Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit arrested a 33-year-old male after having to chase him down.
Around 9:30 am on Monday, July 2, 2018, police were trying to stop the suspect after he had committed a Highway Traffic offence near Redwood Avenue and McGregor Street.
As officers approached the man he took off on foot but was quickly caught and placed under arrest. A search of the man found cash, a loaded handgun, ammunition, digital scales, along with small amounts of Meth and Marihuana.
Darryl Andrew Murphy was charged with a number of offences for his alleged involvement including:
- Possess Marihuana
- Possess For Trafficking (Methamphetamine)
- Possess Proceeds Of Crime
- Possess Prohibited Ammunition / Device Obtained By Crime
- Possess Firearm Obtained By Crime
- Possess Prohibited Ammunition / Device Knowing Its Unauthorized
- Possess Prohibited Firearm Knowing Its Unauthorized
- Transport Firearm Contrary To Regulations
- Possess Loaded Prohibited Firearm
- Possess Firearm / Ammunitions Contrary To Prohibition Order ( x4 )
- Carry Concealed Prohibited Weapon / Firearm / Ammunition ( x2 )
- Possess Weapon
- Resist Arrest
He was detained in custody.
