Winnipeg Police raid three homes seize drugs, weapons and cash

Winnipeg Police concluded a two month long drug trafficking investigation with raids on three home in the city.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Unit began the investigation into a network involved in the illegal trafficking of cocaine in January 2019.

On March 1, 2019 officers executed three search warrants on two homes in Bridgewater Forest and one home in Garden City.

As a result of the raids police seized two kilograms of cocaine worth about $120,000 on the street, nine kilograms of cutting agent, $215,000 in cash, a loaded .45 calibre handgun, three vehicles valued at $100,000, money counters, vacuum sealers, scales and packaging materials.

Investigators also arrested four males and one female between the ages of 21 and 31.

All five suspects are facing charges for their alleged involvement of:

  •  Possess Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
  •  Possess Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
  •  Possess Scheduled Substance (Cocaine)
  •  Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  •  Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  •  Contravention of Storage Regulations
  •  Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm with Ammunition
  •  Tampering with Serial Number
