A 31-year-old Winnipeg man is facing drug trafficking charges following a police raid in the Varsity View neighbourhood, the Winnipeg Police Service announced today.
In March 2025, the West District Community Support Unit received intelligence regarding suspected drug trafficking activity in the area. Following an investigation, officers executed a search warrant on an apartment suite in the 100 block of Hendon Avenue on March 12, 2025. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
A search of the suspect’s person revealed approximately 46 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $4,600. A subsequent search of the suite resulted in the seizure of an additional 207 grams of cocaine, estimated to be worth $20,700. Police also seized drug packaging materials, contaminated scales, and a cell phone.
The suspect has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine. He was released on an Undertaking, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
