Brandon man arrested after drug induced hallucination

Just after 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, Brandon Police responded to an emergency call about a window that had just been broken at a home in the 300 block of 11th Street. Minutes later a second call from the residence to 911 indicated that a male had been chased by someone with a gun.

When police arrived they ordered the male out of the home. He told officers that he broke into the home to get away from the people who were chasing him.

The suspect was intoxicated by a drug and police believe that he was suffering from a drug-induced hallucination.

A search of the suspect found he was in possession of Methamphetamine.

The man was detained and will appear in court later today.

No one was home during the break-in say police.
