St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP take down large-scale marihuana grow-op
RCMP busted a home in Lorette, just east of Winnipeg under a warrant for controlled drugs and substances.
Around 9:30pm September 7, 2016, members from the St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP detachment entered the home on Ferland Bay. Police had observed the property and believed that a large scale clandestine marihuana grow operation was inside the home.
Police seized two pounds of processed dried marihuana, 123 plants in various stages of growth and drug paraphernalia.
Dean Nault, 54, and Fawn Fontaine, 30, both residents of the home, were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana), Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the CDSA for their alleged involvement
The home was deemed unsafe for habitation by the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
