Cops find bag of drugs and weapon in stolen vehicle

Winnipeg Police have arrested two alleged drug traffickers after they spotted a stolen licence plate on a vehicle in Point Douglas.

Just after 8:00 pm on Monday, July 16, 2018, officers pulled the vehicle over. Police learned that the vehicle had also been stolen on July 4, 2018, from East St. Paul, just north of the city. The plate had been stolen the day before on July 15, 2018.

A search of the vehicle was conducted by a member of the K-9 unit and the dog immediately indicated that there were drugs inside. A hand search by officers located a weapon and a bag of drugs along with scales and packaging materials.

Police say the bag contained:

  • 126 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 14 grams of powder cocaine
  • 49 Percocet’s
  • 67 alprazolam’s
  • 18 Hydromorphine pills
  • 7 omeprazole pills

23-year-old Erin Matthew Moar from Winnipeg is facing a number of drug trafficking, property, weapon and probation related charges for his alleged involvement.

An unnamed 23-year old female is also facing drug trafficking, weapon and property crime charges.

 

Moar was detained in custody
