A drug trafficking investigation led the Guns & Gangs Unit of the Winnipeg Police Service to execute a search warrant at a residence on Amy Street and a nearby parked vehicle on Waterfront Drive.
As officers approached the vehicle, two individuals attempted to flee the scene, discarding what was suspected to be illicit drugs. Both were swiftly apprehended and taken into custody. A thorough search of the residence and vehicle led to the seizure of:
- Approximately 650 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $26,000
- Approximately 300 grams of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $3,000
- Drug packaging materials
- Personal identification
- $230 in Canadian currency
The suspects, 46-year-old Jade Ronald Pretty and a 40-year-old female, both residents of Winnipeg, are facing serious charges. Pretty has been charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine (two counts)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Pretty has been detained in custody following the charges.
The female suspect is facing similar charges for trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine. She has been released on an Undertaking, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
