DRUG ARREST | POLICE BUST DRUG DEALER AND WARN PUBLIC

Winnipeg Police are warning the public after they busted a drug dealer in the city on Monday.

On September 12, 2016 police executed a search warrant at a west-end hotel. They seized 1477 blotter tabs with what they believe is Carfentanil, a drug derived from fentanyl and much more toxic.

Carfentanil was designed as a tranquilizer for large animals. It can easily cause overdose death or long term health problems when used in humans.

Police say the street value of the drugs they seized was around $30,000.

A 37 year old male, Grayson Richard Parris from Winnipeghas been charged with numerous offences for his alleged involvement, including:Possess Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Scheduled Substance, Possess Proceeds of Crime

Paris was remanded into custody.

 

Police also advise that if you are using heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil or any other similar drug, it is important that you have a Naloxone overdose prevention kit with you at all times. Because Carfentanil is so toxic, you might need to use several doses of Naloxone to reverse an overdose. If you inject opioids, you can get a free Naloxone kit and overdose response training from the Street Connections program at 496 Hargrave Street. Naloxone can also be purchased from any pharmacy, without a prescription.
