The residents of a Quail Ridge Road condo unit that was under an investigation related to drug trafficking were evicted in early October.
On October 7, 2021, while the investigation was still underway, police were called to the unit for a report of a break-in. When officers arrived they found a male and a female inside and took them into custody. Police obtained a search warrant for the condo and the vehicle the suspects arrived in and found 16.5 grams of cocaine and drug packaging material in the condo and a loaded Mossberg 500 12-guage shotgun (Zombie Chainsaw Edition) along with various types of ammunition.
Marcel Andrew Dumonceaux, 29, has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
- Break & Enter with Intent – Dwelling House
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order
Police also charged a 31-year-old female for her alleged involvement with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking COCAINE
- Break & Enter with Intent – Dwelling House
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Dumonceaux was detained in custody. The female accused was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
