Around 8:30 this morning the driver of a pickup truck slammed into the back of a school bus that had stopped to pick up children.
It happened on Highway 52 and Honey Lane Road about three kilometres northwest of Kleefeld.
The bus had been pulled over onto the shoulder with its flashing lights and stop sign engaged. An eastbound vehicle came to a stop on the highway and waited for the to clear. An eastbound pickup truck attempted to pass the stopped vehicle on the shoulder and rear ended the stopped bus.
Police say that 20 children were on the bus at the time of the collision but no injuries were reported. Emergency Medical crews checked the children for injuries on scene and at the Kleefeld school.
The 19 year old driver of the pickup truck was treated and released at the scene for minor injuries. He is facing charges related to the collision.
Police continue to investigate.
