Driver shot at after making food delivery

A food delivery driver had the scare of a lifetime after he was chased down and shot at around 4:00 am on July 28, 2021.

Police say the delivery driver had just delivered food to a residence near St. Matthews Avenue and Toronto Street when an SUV blocked his exit on the road. The male driver of the SUV pointed a gun at the delivery driver. The delivery driver put his vehicle in reverse and was able to escape the situation. The SUV gave case and was able to catch up to the delivery driver. The driver of the SUV then fired one shot hitting the delivery driver’s vehicle causing the window to shatter.

The 35-year-old male delivery driver was injured due to the shattered glass. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police air looking for the driver of the SUV who is described as a white male, wearing a baseball cap and clear eyeglasses. He has brown hair and was wearing a grey t-shirt. Investigators also want to talk to the female passenger in the SUV who is described as having dark-coloured skin.

Anyone with information that can help investigators from the Major Crimes Unit is asked to call (204)986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204)786-8477.
