The driver of a 5-ton truck involved in a fatal collision with a pedestrian has been identified according to police.
On August 6, 2021 the truck hit a woman in her 80s who was attempting to cross Smith Street at Broadway. The vehicle did not stop at the scene and continued along Broadway and turned northbound on Main Street.
The female was taken to hospital but did not survive her injuries.
Investigators had reached out to the public for help in finding the truck that was involved in the collision.
The investigation continues.
