Manitoba First Nations Police Seervice (MFNPS) is investigating after a male was shot while driving a vehicle on Yellowquill Trail On Sunday evening, March 19, 2023.
Police say that officers found shell casings on the ground at the T-intersection of Yellowquill Trail. The investigation indicated that the driver, along with a passenger, were westbound on Yellowquill Trail when they passed a dark coloured truck heading eastbound. As the vehicles passed each other occupants in the eastbound truck fired at the victim and passenger before fleeing the scene.
The male driver sustained injuries that required him to be airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance to Health Science Center in Winnipeg. The victim is currently in stable condition. The passenger was not injured during the shooting.
MFNPS are looking for any information about the incident, the suspect vehicle and the suspects.
Police believe the vehicle may have been a dark coloured Chevrolet truck with a crew cab.
