Driver flees after crashing truck into Aberdeen Avenue home

Winnipeg police are investigating a crash that happened on Aberdeen Avenue just west of Charles Street around 11:00 pm on Friday, June 11, 2021.

A white pickup truck hit a vehicle on Charles Street causing significant damage then continued down Charles hopping the curb north of Aberdeen Avenue. The vehicle then continued across Aberdeen, hopped a second curb and crashed through a fence before it slammed into a home, coming to an abrupt stop.

According to police on the scene the driver fled before emergency crews arrived in the area. Police set up a large perimeter and began looking for the driver.

The homeowner told News 4 that she was sleeping at the time of the crash and was woken by the sound of the collision.
