RCMP have arrested and charged a 39-year-old woman after she allegedly drove over a male who had been her passenger just a moment before.
According to police, the woman was driving with her 43-year-old male passenger in St. Teresa Point First Nation when she stopped and the man got out of the vehicle. Police say that it was at this time the accused struck the man and pinned him under the vehicle.
RCMP and First Nation Safety officers arrived on the scene and were able to lift the vehicle and pull the victim out from under it.
The man was taken to the nursing station but soon died from his injuries.
Lynette McDougall has been charged for her alleged involvement with Criminal Negligence Causing Death and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death.
She was detained in custody.
