RCMP say that the driver of vehicle involved in a collision is dead and his female passenger was injured.
Police were called to the single-vehicle collision on Highway 1 just west of Highway 26 around 11:40 pm on Wednesday October 25, 2023.
Investigators say that the vehicle was westbound when the driver lost control as the vehicle crossed over the bridge crossing the Assiniboine River. The vehicle then went into the ditch and rolled.
The 33-year-old male driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital in critical condition where he died the next day. The 45-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both occupants of the vehicle are from Dauphin.
Police believe that weather conditions at the time played a factor in the collision.
